User Experience UK (UXUK) Awards 2014 has today launched with the announcement that industry giant Microsoft has teamed together with Bunnyfoot as principal sponsors of this year’s awards.
Established in 2013 to celebrate exceptional and envelope-pushing examples of user experience and user centred design in the UK, the UXUK Awards 2014 – taking place at Microsoft’s impressive Cardinal Place HQ in London on October 22 – will no doubt attract entries from organisations and consultancies alike seeking to grab the top spots and keen to showcase their hard work and creativity.
Battling it out last year was a diverse range of organisations including TFL, Oxfam, Barclay’s, Bloom.fm, Virgin Atlantic, Very, British Gas, RBS/Natwest, Arsenal FC, and the V&A, while sponsorship came from industry big hitters Ogilvy Digital Labs, Bunnyfoot, Salt recruitment, Loop 11, Balsamiq, Axure RP and Mr. Tappy. The UXUK Awards 2014 is expected to encourage a similarly impressive roll call.
“Last year’s UXUK Awards was a resounding success by all accounts, so much so that we started planning for 2014’s awards as soon as the final guest left the party. Our sector is advancing at breakneck speed, and being involved in a set of awards that honours the innovation and expertise being applied to multichannel user experiences is exhilarating. Thinking back to the calibre of entries, we’re really excited to see what the UX community comes up with this year,” explained Jon Dodd, Co Founder of Bunnyfoot, principal sponsor of the UXUK Awards 2014.
Building on the success of last year’s event, the UXUK Awards 2014 has been organised to offer guests – keynote speakers, sponsors, entrants and fellow UX professionals – a hugely valuable experience, as well as a spectacular party. Kicking off with an afternoon of workshop sessions led by industry experts, the event will culminate in a glittering awards ceremony and informal networking to be held in the evening.
Founded by UX and User Centred Design consultancy Bunnyfoot, the UXUK Awards is borne out of an industry-wide common goal: to raise the profile and importance of user experience among wider business communities.
“Having been involved last year – both as judge and keynote speaker – there was absolutely no hesitation in coming on board as a principal sponsor of the UXUK Awards 2014. It really was a stand-out event and one of the major talking points of 2013, and I’ve no doubt that this year’s will be a similar success.
Entries were outstanding: the judging panel had a very difficult job in separating the winners from the runners up which really is testament to the quality of work going on every day across the UK to deliver exceptional user experiences,” added Jarnail Chudge, User Experience & Design Architect at Microsoft.
The UXUK Awards recognises excellence in user-focused digital or service design, inviting key industry big hitters, UX professionals and advocates, to meet in the UK capital to celebrate pioneering practices in today’s multichannel landscape.
With organisation of the awards in full swing, the full lineup of keynote speakers, additional sponsors, esteemed judging panel and this year’s awards categories will be announced over the coming months.
